Return to Play & League Hockey
LATEST ON THE RETURN TO PLAY
UPDATE: 7th January 2021
Leicestershire League remaining fixtures
Following the Government announcement on Monday 4th January, and being mindful of the current situation with the COVID-19 virus, we have made the decision to cancel all games scheduled to be played over the next couple of months.
At this stage our objective remains to complete half of the season (i.e. one full round of fixtures) and to give clubs at least 2 weeks notice, once a return to play is agreed, to allow for training prior to the resumption of league hockey.
We have no dates for fixtures at present, but will keep you informed of any further changes as we receive guidance from England Hockey.
Take care and stay safe.
LRHA Women's Section League Committee January 2021
There will be no League hockey before Christmas!
All the League fixtures rearranged for December and early January will be postponed.
We don't yet know if/when hockey will restart in January but the League will prioritise the games postponed on 14th, 21st and 28th November, along with any other games postponed during the first half of the season. The November postponed games will remain in the same order – e.g. the first match in January will be the 14th November fixture.
The League hopes that (weather/Covid restrictions, etc. permitting) these games can be played in January and early February, to give us a complete set of fixtures for the first half of the season.
All games moved to December/January will be returned to the original dates on Fixtures Live, to avoid confusion!
The Committee will meet again on 5th January 2021 and report back to clubs as soon as possible. We are hopeful for fixtures to start on 9th January, and will be guided by Government and England Hockey advice.
